ROLES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CEO

1. CEO is appointed by the Board of Directors
   • Appointed by the Board of Directors
   • Leads and Directs the organisation
   • Is expected to know the inner functions of the organisation
2. The Board should appoint an effective and ethical CEO, Core functions include:
   • Plays a critical and strategic role in the operations and success of the company’s business
   • Manages the organisation and its affairs
   • Maintain stakeholder’s confidence within the organisation’s executive management
   • Ensures that the long-term strategy and vision of the organisation and its management are developed and recommended to the Board, to generate satisfactory levels of the funder’s value.
   • Foster/ Strengthens stakeholder relationships
   • Maintain/ builds strategic business relationships
   • Manage organisation’s exposure to risks
   • Builds company brand/ image
